Cellular Respiration

In this live-action program viewers will learn that all living cells get the energy the need through a chemical reaction called respiration. Students will come to understand that cellular respiration is the metabolic process that breaks down organic molecules to release energy for use by cells. They will discover that the process turns glucose from food into carbon dioxide, water, and the high energy compounds Adenosine triphosphate or ATP and NADH. These molecules provide the energy for the cell to function; to grow, divide, replace worn out cell parts, and execute many other tasks.
